Protect Utah's Child Care Assistance Program
Utah's Office of Child Care has proposed changes to the Child Care Assistance Program that would lower income eligibility for new applicants from 85% to 50% of State Median Income (SMI) and lower the exit threshold from 85% to 65% SMI.
OCC projects that 934 families and 1,573 children would lose eligibility as families reach annual review. Approximately 26% of FFY25 applications would not have qualified under the proposed entry threshold.
